Privacy policy
Last updated October 4, 2026
Tempted is an iPhone app made by Kodabase Inc. ("we"). This policy explains what data the app handles and why. The short version: there's no account and no bank login, the things you log stay on your devices and in your own iCloud, and we only receive anonymous usage statistics and crash reports.
What you log stays with you
Skips, parked items, amounts, titles, notes, categories, tags, goals, challenges and badges are stored on your device and synced through your private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. We can't see or access this data. If you're not signed into iCloud, it stays on your device only.
When you share a link to Tempted, the app fetches that page's title and image directly from the website, on your device, to fill in the item. The link isn't sent to us.
Anonymous usage statistics
To understand how the app is used and improve it, Tempted sends anonymous events (for example "a skip was logged" or "a challenge was finished") to PostHog and Google Firebase Analytics. These events never include item titles, links, notes, tags or exact amounts; at most an amount range such as "$25–50".
Along with the events, these services receive basic device and app information (such as iPhone model, iOS version, app version and language), a random identifier for the app installation, and your IP address. The IP address is used to estimate your approximate location (country and city). We don't use the advertising identifier, we don't create profiles of you, and we don't link this data to your name, email or Apple ID.
Crash reports
If the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics receives a crash report with technical details (what went wrong in the code, device model, iOS version, app version and an installation identifier) so we can fix it. Crash reports don't include what you've logged in the app.
Purchases
Tempted Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to check whether you have an active subscription. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user identifier and your purchase history from Apple (such as which plan and when it renews). We never see your payment details.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data or share it for advertising.
- We don't track you across other apps or websites.
- We don't connect to your bank or move money.
Keeping and deleting data
You can delete everything you've logged at any time in the app under You → Settings → Delete all data, which removes it from your devices and your iCloud. Deleting the app also removes the data on that device.
Anonymous analytics data is kept for a limited time (Firebase Analytics for 2 months) and crash reports are kept by Crashlytics for up to 90 days. Because this data isn't tied to your identity, we generally can't find a specific person's records; if you'd like us to try, email us.
Children
Tempted isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Service providers
- Apple (iCloud/CloudKit, App Store purchases)
- RevenueCat (subscription status)
- PostHog (anonymous usage statistics)
- Google Firebase (anonymous usage statistics and crash reports)
These providers may process data in the United States and other countries.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, mention it in the app's release notes.
